By Ryan Kubik

I'm planning to give one game a month a shot this year. We'll see how it goes!

I like the idea of making games as fast as possible. Some types of mechanics will just be out of reach, but since over-scoping is such an easy trap it sounds like a good way to build discipline and try out ideas without much risk. The January game is a success, super simple but still pretty fun to mess around with.

(By the way, in case you didn't know you can format links and lists in html/markdown, there's a formatting guide here.)

Thanks! Yeah! I think some amount of discipline and experience shipping projects/games is what I'm hoping to get out of this project.

Ah dang, that's a bummer that you lost your original post. I could have sworn I implemented something to confirm if you wanted to abandon changes but that must have been some other site I'm confusing it with. Anyway - congrats on the game! I really liked this one as well. Nice art does make a huge difference, but the game mechanics are solid too.

I fat fingered a hot key. I use CMD + OPTION + LEFT ARROW for my window manager. But CMD + LEFT ARROW goes back in the browser. A slip of the finger and tragedy ensues!

Thanks! :-)

Lookin' to scope way down this month! Especially since its half over already and I'm headed to GDC next week.

I think pivoting from one-game-a-month is smart if you found a game idea you want to expand on like Island Maker, being flexible is a good thing. I almost forgot about Fish Game! We should write a devlog for that one, for posterity.
